Wyndham Crime Investigation Unit detectives have taken decisive action in charging a 16–year–old Hoppers Crossing teenager in connection with a grassfire in Truganina on 5 March.
Emergency services were called to the incident, which occurred in grassland near the intersection of Westmeadows Lane and Rymill Way at approximately 4.30pm.
The fire spread quickly and caused severe damage to rear fences and a local residence.
The teen has been charged with intentionally causing a bushfire and unlicensed driving, and will appear at a children‘s court at a later date.
