Glendale Aged care have confirmed a total of ten residents lost to coronavirus as two more residents have passed away in the last few days.
The facility on Heath’s Road, Werribee, now have a total of 42 positive cases that have been recorded since the outbreak began.
The covid impacted area of the facility is upstairs and remains isolated with clear physical demarcations and permanent monitoring to contain the virus.
In an update released on the Allity website the company said, “We recognise that for families with loved ones in the impacted area, the continuing positive results will be causing great concern. It also raises questions as to how this can be happening despite the assurances we have communicated that we have done everything possible to keep the virus contained.”
Staff at the facility have had to transfer five residents to hospital so far as they were posing risks to others through their ‘inability to remain isolated without a form of restraint’.
