
Police apprehended three individuals after a reportedly stolen yellow Mitsubishi Lancer was abandoned in Hoppers Crossing last night.
At around 9.35pm, police spotted the vehicle driving on Bulban Road in Werribee and attempted to intercept it, however, it quickly fled the scene.
The Air Wing was then called in and tracked the car to McKellar Avenue in Hoppers Crossing, where it was abandoned.
Four female occupants fled the vehicle that was stolen from Tarneit on Tuesday 21st of February, and officers quickly moved in and arrested three of them with the help of the Air Wing and Dog Squad.
A 17-year-old Harkness resident was charged with the theft of a motor vehicle and granted bail.
A 17-year-old from Werribee was also charged with the same offence and will appear in a Children’s Court at a later date.
The third suspect, a 20-year-old from Kangaroo Flat, was charged with theft of a motor vehicle and is due in Melbourne Magistrates’ Court today.
