In short:

Three new bridges are being installed in Truganina’s Allura Estate to replace stepping stones and improve safety across Doherty’s Drain. The project strengthens local walking and cycling access, especially for children and young people.

New Bridges for Allura Estate

Three new pedestrian bridges are being installed in Truganina’s Allura Estate, replacing the current stepping stones and informal tracks used to cross Doherty’s Drain.

The new structures will provide direct links between Akkersley Drive and Rockgarden Drive, Malmaison Crescent and Bolivar Esplanade, and Neroli Crescent and Forsyth Road.

The prefabricated bridges arrived on site late last month, and installation is now underway alongside new connecting paths and boardwalks. The works are scheduled to be finished by the end of 2025.

These upgrades are intended to make the area safer and more practical for people moving around on foot or by bike.

Families, school-aged children and young people who rely on local paths to reach parks, playgrounds and nearby friends will no longer need to navigate uneven or makeshift creek crossings.

The project forms part of Wyndham’s 2025/26 capital works program, which includes a range of local access and open-space improvements across the municipality.

Residents can track progress via the Capital Works Dashboard.
