Police were called to Seabrook after reports a child was hit by a car on Wednesday morning (10 March).
It’s believed the child ran into the path of an oncoming car on Shane Avenue (near Point Cook Road) , Seabrook, about 8.40am.
The driver of the car alerted emergency services to the incident and has since been interviewed by police.
She has been released pending further enquiries.
The 3-year-old girl was taken to The Royal Children’s Hospital with non-life-threatening upper-body injuries.
Police are working to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
