Residents Voice Their Opinion
Wyndham residents continue to rate council performance positively overall, but concerns about traffic congestion, crime and community safety are becoming more prominent.
Results from Wyndham City’s 2025-26 Annual Community Satisfaction Survey show an overall satisfaction score of 7.2 out of 10, down slightly from last year’s record high of 7.3.
The survey, conducted between October 2025 and January 2026, gathered feedback from 1,200 residents through face-to-face interviews across the municipality.
Traffic management remains the issue residents are most concerned about, with 21 per cent of respondents identifying congestion, commuting times and related transport issues as a top priority. Concerns about safety, policing and crime also surged, rising from eight per cent of respondents last year to 21 per cent this year.
Parking was identified as a key issue by seven per cent of respondents, while parks and open space, road maintenance and repairs, and street tree maintenance were each raised by around five per cent of residents.
The survey found all 47 community-facing services received ratings ranging from good to excellent, with nearly three-quarters achieving an excellent rating. Thirty per cent of services improved their satisfaction category compared with the previous year.
Residents expressed strong agreement that Wyndham is welcoming to people from diverse cultural backgrounds and provides good recreational open spaces. However, views were less positive regarding improvements to the municipality’s road network.
The results will form part of Wyndham City’s annual performance reporting and long-term planning processes.
