Unveiling the Latest Recreational Marvels! From Vibrant Landscapes to Upgraded Play Spaces, Wyndham City's Parks Are Getting a Stunning Makeover.

In a recent update on the $2.4 million Parks Asset Renewal Program, significant strides have been made, with the completion of upgrades to three playgrounds, two currently in progress, and plans to commence work on four more in the coming months.

The latest enhancements include the completion of new playgrounds and landscaping at Brougham Avenue Reserve in Wyndham Vale and Karobran Kindergarten and Wilmington Kindergarten in Hoppers Crossing. Ongoing projects involve playground upgrades and associated works at Southampton Drive Park in Point Cook and Thames Boulevard Reserve in Werribee, both slated for completion by the end of 2023.

Over the upcoming summer school holidays, The Grange Kindergarten and The Grange Early Learning Centre playgrounds in Hoppers Crossing are set to undergo revitalization. Additionally, playground upgrades at Werribee’s Thomas Chirnside Kindergarten and Little River Kindergarten are scheduled for the term 1, 2024 school holidays.

Councillor Peter Maynard, the Active City portfolio holder for Wyndham City, expressed enthusiasm about the positive impact of these upgrades on local communities, emphasizing their role in promoting accessibility and encouraging increased usage of the nominated play spaces.

“The Parks Asset Renewal Program is an annual Wyndham City capital works program that transforms aging parks and play spaces into new and improved spaces that better meet the community’s needs,” stated Cr Maynard. He highlighted the program’s tailored approach, addressing the unique conditions of each play space and considering the requirements of the local community.

Cr Maynard underscored the importance of quality open spaces in close proximity to residents’ homes and the need for kindergartens to offer exciting and stimulating outdoor areas for children to play and learn. He affirmed that the ongoing enhancements were successfully delivering on these objectives.
