A man who lives in Truganina was located in Box Hill. He believed COVID-19 to be a conspiracy and that he was targeted by police. He was fined $1652.00
A driver in Wyndham was also intercepted by police whilst on his way to buy fast food. He was also watching Netflix on his phone while driving.
In the last 24 hours, Police have issued a total of 223 fines in Victoria to individuals for breaching the Chief Health Officer directions.
Here is a breakdown:
o 27 for failing to wear a face covering when leaving home for one of the four approved reasons
o 23 at vehicle checkpoints
o 87 for curfew breaches
• 16,254 vehicles checked at the vehicle checkpoints
• Conducted 3994 spot checks on people at homes, businesses and public places across the state (total of 277,904 spot checks conducted since 21 March).
