The Truganina Fire Brigade is inviting the community to its annual open day, which will take place on Sunday, October 20, at their newly opened station located at 1079 Leakes Road, Tarneit. The event is free to attend and will run from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.

The $5 million new fire station, which became operational after its official opening on Saturday, June 1, will be the centrepiece of the day’s activities. One of the key highlights will be the introduction of two new fire trucks to the brigade’s fleet. Attendees will have the chance to explore these trucks and participate in naming them, with the opportunity to win a great prize for the best name suggestion.
The open day promises a range of activities for people of all ages, including live demonstrations by brigade members and an animal farm for younger visitors. The brigade sees this event as an opportunity to showcase their skills beyond firefighting, with a focus on educating the community about the broader role of emergency services and how various organizations work together during emergencies.
The brigade hopes the open day will help strengthen their relationship with the local community and inspire more people to get involved. Everyone is encouraged to come along, meet the firefighters, and learn more about how they serve and protect the area.
