Truganina Teen Arrests Over Carjackings and Robberies.


Westgate detectives working as part of Operation Alliance have arrested and charged three males following two aggravated carjackings and a robbery in Truganina and Southbank last month.

A 17-year-old, 18-year-old and 19-year-old all from Truganina have been charged with a range of offences, including aggravated carjacking, theft of motor vehicle and robbery following three incidents which occurred over the last month.

Investigators have been told one of the victim’s drove his car into a Victoria Street residential driveway just before midnight on 28 December when he was approached by two males.

The men allegedly began to assault him while a third man approached before the three offenders fled in the victim’s silver Ford Falcon sedan.

The 24-year-old victim sustained lower body injuries and was conveyed to hospital in a non-life threatening condition.

Investigators have been told on the same night, at about 2.45am on 29 December, a man was sitting in his vehicle on Balston Street, Southbank when he was approached by a group of males and females.

The group allegedly began to assault him before stealing his vehicle.

Both vehicles were later recovered in Truganina and Southbank.

On 8 January, investigators have been told an 11-year-old boy was at a fast food outlet at the corner of Forsyth and Sayers roads at about 7pm.

The boy was allegedly approached by four males who began to assault the boy before stealing his phone.

The victim’s father attended the scene and located one of the offenders, holding them until police arrived. An 18-year-old male from Truganina was subsequently charged with carjacking, theft of motor vehicle, robbery, handle stolen goods and breaching a court order. He was remanded to appear at the Werribee Magistrates’ Court at a later date.

A further two search warrants were executed on 12 and 19 January in Truganina.

A 17-year-old male was charged with aggravated carjacking, theft of motor vehicle and robbery. He was remanded to appear at a children’s court at a later date.

A 19-year-old male was charged with aggravated carjacking and robbery. He was remanded to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court at a later date.
