
Police are investigating a fatal house fire in Werribee this morning.
Emergency services were called to a house fire at approximately 7.15am this morning 26th of November.
Firefighters arrived at the double-storey house on Manor Street in Werribee to a person who was unconscious and not breathing at the front of the house. The person was given CPR but unfortunately died at the scene.
A witness at the scene said an explosion occurred at the property shortly before, smashing a hole in an upstairs window.
Black smoke was seen issuing from the upstairs room.
A second person was also found to be deceased at the scene.
A third male resident was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The exact circumstances surrounding the fire are yet to be determined and investigations remain ongoing.
