A two hour journey to the city is on the cards if current stay at home advice is not adhered to. In a recent communication to Victorians, Daniel Andrews has hit out at workers who are not following the work from home advice.
“The number of people on the roads and the transport network is already starting to increase and we cannot let that creep continue.” Mr. Andrews said.
He added, “If we do, then we’ll see commute times worse than anything any of us have ever experienced – two hours from Werribee to the city, 90 minutes from Reservoir and two and half hours from Mulgrave.”
Wyndham has in fact seen a noticeable increase in road users and the concern is that if more people start to drive to work places we will see our freeways and other major roads grind to a halt.
There is currently no timeline as to when the work from home advice will be lifted and Daniel Andrews says that the challenge to get back to a normal work life is far from over.
