Two men have been charged by detectives from the Armed Crime Squad following an aggravated burglary in Tarneit back in April, during which a shot was fired.
Yesterday morning, search warrants were executed at residential addresses in Melbourne and Epping. A 23-year-old man from Melbourne has been charged with several offenses, including endangering life and causing injury.
A 22-year-old man from Epping has also been charged with similar offenses. Both individuals were remanded overnight and are scheduled to appear at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court today.
During the operation, a sawn-off bolt action rifle was seized from the Epping address. The incident took place on Melville Street on April 27, where emergency services responded to a disturbance.
According to reports, a man inside the property was assaulted by a group of men. While a shot was fired inside the house, fortunately, it did not hit the victim.
The 27-year-old Tarneit man was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Police believe the incident was targeted, and the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information or who witnessed the incident is encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers.
