Two new off-leash parks set to open in Hoppers Crossing and Truganina by mid-2025.
Wyndham City is set to welcome two new off-leash dog parks, with construction scheduled to begin in early 2025. The parks, located at Cambridge Reserve in Hoppers Crossing and Alcock Road Reserve in Truganina, will provide safe and engaging spaces for dog owners and their pets to enjoy.
The $450,000 Cambridge Reserve project will feature secure fencing with double gates, a drink fountain, and an active zone with agility equipment. Additional amenities include a new path network connecting to existing paths, landscaping, and new bench seating to enhance comfort for visitors. Construction is expected to be completed by mid-2025.
Wyndham City Mayor, Cr Mia Shaw, highlighted the significance of these new facilities. “Creating spaces like this exciting new dog off-leash park enhances Wyndham’s liveability and brings the community together to support healthy and active lifestyles,” she said.
The Grange Ward Councillor, Shannon McGuire, also praised the development. “This is a fantastic addition to the Cambridge Reserve, providing the Hoppers Crossing community with high-quality amenities that they can enjoy with their beloved pets.”
The Victorian Government has contributed $350,000 to the project through the New and Upgraded Dog Parks Program.
Similarly, the new Alcock Road Reserve dog park in Truganina will also be constructed at a cost of $450,000. It will include secure fencing with double gates, a drink fountain, and an active zone with agility equipment. The park will be integrated into the existing path network with the addition of a new concrete path, alongside landscaping and seating.
Mayor Shaw expressed her enthusiasm for the project, stating, “This new dog off-leash park will become a haven for residents and their pets. We’re committed to providing the community with diverse open spaces that encourage active and healthy lifestyles and socialisation – even for the furry residents of Wyndham.”
Preet Singh, Wyndham City Councillor for Bemin Ward, added, “This new dog off-leash park will provide a fantastic space for local dog owners to enjoy quality time with their pets, promoting healthy, active lifestyles in a safe and engaging environment.”
Both projects are expected to be completed by mid-2025, adding to Wyndham’s growing network of recreational spaces for pets and their owners.
