This morning, three males were apprehended in connection with two separate armed robberies and a pursuit that took place in Werribee.
Allegedly, two men bearing a machete forced their way into a business on Watton Street in Werribee at approximately 9:00am, demanding money before taking off in a stolen vehicle.
A short time later, one of the offenders entered another business on Cottrell Street holding the machete, making off with cash and alcohol. The offenders attempted to escape in the stolen grey Hyundai hatch, prompting a pursuit by police.
The chase was terminated on the Princes Freeway near Duncans Road in Werribee, but the vehicle lost control and crashed into a pole on Ascot Vale Road in Moonee Ponds close to 10:30am.
Two boys aged in their teens, and a 20–year–old man, were arrested at the scene, with one taken to hospital and the other two now in custody.
