Stolen car tracked from Altona to Manor Lakes
Two youths have been arrested after a car was allegedly stolen in Altona and tracked by its owners to Manor Lakes on Tuesday 22 September 2026.
Police allege the pair stole the vehicle, a grey BYD Sealion, from Pier Street in Altona about 8.30pm.
The owners tracked the car, which was later located by police on Sugarlea Street, Manor Lakes, about 10.45pm.
Neighbours hear commotion as police arrive
A 17-year-old and a 16-year-old, both from the Wyndham area, were arrested at the scene.
One Sugarlea Street resident said they had no idea what was unfolding until the noise outside drew them to the front of their home.
“Not sure what happened we just heard yelling & a dog barking non stop,” the resident said.
“So oblivious we went to have a sticky nose out the front. We walked out just as a cop car went flying up to the end of the street where there was a guy yelling.”
Youths to be charged on summons
The pair were interviewed by police and are expected to be charged on summons.
The arrests come after police launched a stolen car checker earlier this month, and follow a police blitz in which dozens were arrested and stolen cars recovered across Wyndham in August.
Earlier this month, two teenage boys were arrested after an alleged armed burglary in Werribee.
