FRV and CFA firefighters battled a garage fire in Truganina overnight on 10 September.
Crews were called to a property on Angaston Way just after 11.30pm, where they arrived to find a brick garage engulfed in flames.
Three residents escaped before emergency services arrived, with one treated for shock by Ambulance Victoria paramedics.
About half of the property was severely damaged by fire, with the remainder affected by smoke and water. A Building Inspector was expected to assess the structural integrity of the home.
Firefighters remained on site into the morning to extinguish hot spots. The blaze was confirmed to have been caused by unattended cooking in the garage.
A total of 30 firefighters and 11 firetrucks, including CFA crews, attended the scene.
