Emergency Services attended the Werribee River in Chirnside Park following reports a person had entered the water and not emerged on 14 July.
Police were called to the scene about 5.40pm after witnesses reported concerns for an unknown male that had been seen splashing in the water.
Police and SES have conducted a search of the surrounding areas and did not locate anything.
Search and Rescue units returned to the area this morning (15/07/2020) and recovered the man’s body. Police are not treating the death as suspicious.
