Three Men Arrested for Armed Robbery in Werribee, Charges Laid by Westgate Alliance Taskforce
Three men have been charged by detectives from the Westgate Alliance Taskforce in connection with an armed robbery that occurred in Werribee. According to reports, the incident took place on Tuesday, July 25, around 10 pm when the male victim was walking along Tower Road. Two unidentified males approached him during the encounter.
Reportedly, the suspects brandished knives and demanded the victim’s phone and wallet, which he handed over. After the robbery, the offenders fled the scene, and the victim promptly notified the police. Despite an immediate response from the authorities, including ground and aerial units, the alleged offenders could not be located at that time.
Following the incident, an investigation was initiated, leading the Westgate Alliance Taskforce to execute a series of warrants on Friday, July 28. During this operation, three 18-year-old men, two from Werribee and one from Newtown, were arrested in connection with the armed robbery. Each of them now faces charges related to the incident.
The accused men have been remanded and are scheduled to appear at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court. The Westgate Alliance Taskforce detectives remain committed to investigating serious offenses in the western suburbs.
