An investigation is underway into a building fire that broke out on Synnot Street in Werribee on Sunday 26 June around 7pm.
Kelly Park’s community centre was found ablaze by CFA fire crews, with a roof fire spreading.
The CFA deployed 10 vehicles and was supported by the FRV at the scene.
7.38 pm marked the time when the scene was declared under control.
Fire officials are still examining the cause of the fire, but it is considered suspicious at this stage.
A 34-year-old man was arrested on Comben Drive in Werribee after reports of a bin fire shortly before 10.00pm.
The man suffered lacerations during the arrest and was attended to by ambulance at the scene. It is not known at this stage if the two incidents are related but he is assisting police with their enquiries.
