Five teenagers have been arrested after they were caught driving a stolen vehicle in Melbourne’s west Thursday evening.
The car had earlier been allegedly stolen from a fitness centre in Brunswick.
The owners were able track the vehicle to the Truganina area where they spotted the car and notified police.
Officers then spotted the allegedly stolen 2020 Hyundai wagon on Heaths Road in Hoppers Crossing about 11.50pm on Thursday, 27 January.
The Police Air Wing were called and began following the car as it travelled on Hogans Road at a fast rate of speed.
Officers on the ground successfully deployed stop sticks on Westmeadows Lane, Truganina, but the driver continued on before stopping the car on Sedgefield Avenue.
The driver and passengers fled on foot but were arrested without incident shortly after.
An 18-year-old man, two 13-year-old boys, a 15-year-old boy and a 17-year-old boy are currently assisting police with their enquiries.
