VIDEO: Shop Attendant Stabbed Over a Bottle of Alcohol

Police are investigating following a stabbing in Hoppers Crossing on Thursday night (1 April).

Officers were called to a liquor store on Warringa Crescent to reports a man stabbed a staff attendant about 6.20pm.
It’s believed the staff member approached the man after he stole alcohol from the store.

A scuffle ensued and the 48-year-old victim was stabbed before the offender fled on foot.


The victim was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.


Police believe the male offender attempted to steal alcohol from another liquor store on Old Geelong Road just prior to the incident.


The man is perceived to be African in appearance and aged between 20-30 years.


He was wearing a black singlet, black pants and grey or white socks at the time of the incident.
