Police and emergency services attended the scene of a collision in Point Cook this afternoon (Thursday 19 November).
The collision occurred on the Princes Freeway near Forsyth Road at 12.40pm.
It is believed a truck traveling east (inbound) on the Princes Freeway crossed over onto the west (outbound) lanes hitting several cars before coming to rest in a carpark on Wallace Avenue.
The male driver of one of the cars has been taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital in a stable condition with upper-body injuries, and the driver of the truck, a man believed to be in his 50’s was taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital with minor injures, and is assisting police with their enquiries.
The freeway has been busier than usual since covid lockdowns and the place where the truck stopped on Wallace Avenue is a business hub that usually has cars coming and going constantly, but, miraculously no-one was killed in the incident.
