Wyndham Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged three men following an aggravated burglary and the theft of a motor car in Point Cook earlier today.
The aggravated burglary took place at an address on Middleton Drive when three men entered the garage of the house and allegedly stole a Honda Civic sedan just after 11.30am.
A short time later police observed the stolen car driving in the vicinity of the burglary and followed it to Cinel Court in Truganina.
The three occupants got out of the car and ran into an address in the court.
Police entered the property and arrested the three men and two other men who were also inside the premises.
Two men, aged 19 years from Point Cook, and one 20-year-old Truganina man have been charged with aggravated burglary and theft of motor car.
They have been remanded in custody to appear at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Sunday 19 April.
One of the occupants of the Cinel Court premises, a 22-year-old man, has been charged with assault police and resist arrest. He has been bailed to appear at the Werribee Magistrates’ Court on 13 August.
A fifth man, from the Cinel Court address, was exonerated.
