Voting in Wyndham’s 2024 local council elections is set to commence next week, with ballot packs being mailed to all enrolled voters starting Monday. These packs will detail which ward voters are in, based on their address. Residents can also confirm their ward now using WyndhamTV’s interactive ward finder map .
Victorian Electoral Commissioner Sven Bluemmel is urging voters to cast their votes as early as possible to ensure their voices are heard.
“With the election being conducted by post, voters must complete and return their ballot material as soon as possible to make sure their vote counts,” Mr Bluemmel said.
It is recommended that voters complete and return their ballots as soon as they receive them. All completed ballot materials must be mailed or delivered to the election office by 6 pm on Friday, 25 October. Any ballots received after this deadline will not be counted.
Voters who haven’t received their ballot pack by Tuesday, 15 October, are encouraged to visit vec.vic.govau to complete an online replacement ballot pack form.
Voting is compulsory for all voters enrolled in this election by the 4 pm deadline on Wednesday, 7 August. Those who fail to vote may face a fine.
In wards or councils where the number of candidates matches the number of vacancies, voting will not be required, and candidates will be elected unopposed.
