Warning!! Non-Approved Event Still Selling Tickets Online.

Halloween Tarneit

An event advertised locally as Halloween Carnival has been caught out having no council approvals and is not able to run but is still promoting and selling tickets.

Council have not issued permits

Wyndham TV contacted Wyndham City Council and a spokesperson advised, “Wyndham City was advised that a Halloween Carnival may be held in Tarneit. No permits were issued for such an event.”

Council officers last week contacted the Tarneit Gardens Shopping Centre management, who own the land on the north side of Wickford Rd where the event was proposed and they advised that the event will not be proceeding.”

Stall Holder Loses $200

A stall holder at a previous event the organisers held, the WINTER CARNIVAL in Craigieburn  contacted Wyndham TV and said, “the event was cancelled with no notice and no notification – they refused to refund my $200 due to being in too much debt”

“Patrons were not refunded the $12 ticket fee when the gates were opened to the public for free.”, they said.

They said that they then found advertising for two new events – the Halloween Carnival in Tarneit and Pakenham.

The event will not be going ahead.
Council are aware of the event but have not issued permits.
The ticketing company does not appear to be registered.

The ticketing company ‘getmytickets’ is available for purchase of tickets but does not seem to be a registered business as there is no ABN that seems to be linked.

The ticketing company also clearly states in their terms and conditions that tickets are NON – REFUNDABLE.

Council said that officers will check the site this week to ensure the event does not take place.

Residents are urged to contact the organisers directly for further information.
