In short:
Make Music Day will bring free live performances and a community drumming workshop to the Wyndham Cultural Centre Forecourt in Werribee on 20 June.
Great Day to Make Music
Local musicians will take centre stage in Werribee this month as Make Music Day returns to the Wyndham Cultural Centre Forecourt with a free afternoon of live entertainment and hands-on activities.
The community event will be held on 20 June at the Wyndham Cultural Centre on Watton Street, showcasing a diverse mix of musical styles and local talent.
The lineup includes Bangladeshi folk-fusion group Backyard Production, reggae and Afro-fusion artist Mikhaell, and jazz-pop favourites Gerry’s Well Oiled Machine.
Visitors will also have the chance to get involved with a free drumming workshop led by Rod Pilois from Beatfactor Music, offering people of all ages the opportunity to try their hand at percussion.
The event forms part of the global Make Music Day celebration, which encourages communities around the world to come together through music and creativity.
Performances begin at 11am with Backyard Production, followed by Mikhaell at midday. The drumming workshop will run from 1pm to 2:30pm before Gerry’s Well Oiled Machine closes out the afternoon from 3pm.
Supported through Wyndham City’s 2026 Make Music Day Grants program, the free event is open to all ages and does not require registration.
Organisers are encouraging residents to head into Werribee’s city centre, enjoy the live performances and celebrate the region’s vibrant local music scene.
