
A hospitalised resident of a local aged care facility tested positive for Covid-19 causing the aged care facility to go into lockdown.
Families of residents at the Glendale Aged care on Heaths Road, Werribee, were notified via SMS on Tuesday the 7th of July and were told further details would be provided.
It has been confirmed that the resident who tested positive is being cared for at the hospital but it is unclear as to how the resident became infected. Tracing is ongoing with the support of the DHSS.
All of the residents and staff were tested on Wednesday 8th July and the results are pending.
The facility has assured residents and their families that they are following their action plan in co-operation with the DHSS and Public Health Unit so as to contain any potential threat of the virus spreading.
