Hollywood Action Hits Werribee South!

Werribee South is set to play a starring role in a major Hollywood production, with filming scheduled to take place along Diggers Road on Friday, March 14, 2025. The area has been chosen as a backdrop for the upcoming action thriller The Mongoose, which stars Liam Neeson in the lead role.

A notification sent to residents confirms that traffic management will be in place, with delays of up to five minutesexpected as filming gets underway. The schedule outlines that the film crew will begin setting up from 7:00 am, with shooting taking place between 8:00 am and 10:00 am, before wrapping up by 11:00 am. A drone will also be used to capture aerial shots of the area, adding to the production’s cinematic scope.

While it’s not yet confirmed whether Liam Neeson himself will be present for this part of the shoot, the possibility remains. The Hollywood veteran has been spotted filming high-speed action sequences in Altona earlier this week, where he performed scenes behind the wheel of a black Ford Mustang. Given that Werribee South is now part of the filming schedule, local fans will be hoping to catch a glimpse of the action star in their own backyard.

The Mongoose tells the story of Ryan “Fang” Flanagan, a war hero who becomes the target of a nationwide manhunt after being framed for a crime he didn’t commit. The film has already been shot across multiple locations in Victoria, including Bacchus Marsh, Castlemaine, Bangholme, and the Melbourne CBD. Now, Werribee South will add its coastal landscapes and rural roads to the film’s backdrop, further cementing Melbourne’s reputation as a go-to destination for international productions.

The production is expected to bring economic benefits to the region, with local businesses and workers involved in the project. Residents are advised to plan for minor traffic delays during the morning filming window but can also take pride in knowing their community is about to make its mark on the big screen.

With The Mongoose expected to wrap filming in the coming weeks, Werribee South locals may soon see their own streets and surroundings in a high-octane Hollywood blockbuster when the film hits cinemas worldwide.
