Western United’s GRAND FINAL Glory.

Western United is through to an historic, maiden A-League Men Grand Final after a 4-2 aggregate semi-final win over Melbourne Victory.

After losing the first leg 1-0 on Tuesday night, United completed a stunning turnaround to claim the return fixture 4-1 on Saturday night and advance to the final day of the season.

Aleksandar Prijovic was the star man as he opened the scoring inside the first 20 minutes before Jake Brimmer equalised with a free-kick before half-time.

The Serbian striker added his second goal of the match soon after the interval and set up the third for Lachie Wales in the 78th minute.

Dylan Wenzel-Halls added the icing on the cake deep into injury time when he slotted into an empty net, sparking wild scenes of celebration at AAMI Park.

John Aloisi, his entire coaching staff and playing squad have embarked on a remarkable 2021/22 campaign so far, and it’s not finished yet.

The Grand Final will see Western United meet either Melbourne City or Adelaide United on Saturday May 28 at 7:45pm at AAMI Park.

Western United will be fixtured as the home team if it is against Adelaide United, or the away side against Melbourne City.
