Williams Landing’s New Tail Wagging Haven

Residents in Williams Landing are rejoicing as the eagerly anticipated dog off-leash park is now officially open! Nestled within the scenic Williams Landing Boulevard Reserve, this newly completed park offers an array of amenities catering to the needs of both dogs and their owners.

The highlight of the park is the fenced-off dog off-leash area, featuring three distinct zones thoughtfully designed for various activities. A spacious lawn area allows dogs to freely run around, an activity space is equipped with agility equipment for play, and a quiet zone is designated for smaller and older dogs seeking a more relaxed environment.

In addition to these designated zones, the park boasts essential features such as a drinking fountain, ample seating, a dog litter bag dispenser, and strategically placed bins for convenient waste disposal.

Wyndham City’s Mayor, Jennie Barrera, expressed her enthusiasm for the completion of this project, emphasizing its alignment with the Wyndham Dog Off-Leash Plan 2022 and Wyndham’s Open Space Strategy. Both initiatives aim to enhance the accessibility and connectivity of open spaces, creating family-friendly environments for residents and their beloved pets.

Cr Barrera commented, “The new Williams Landing dog off-leash park is a fantastic space for your four-legged friends to run, play, and socialize. This follows the recent opening of Werribee’s Levittown Rise dog off-leash park and boosts our network of tailored spaces for the various breeds of dogs that call our City home.”

She further hinted at the upcoming developments, stating, “And there’s more to come, with work on a dog off-leash area at The Strand Park in Point Cook expected to start in the coming weeks and planning underway on new dog off-leash parks at Cambridge Reserve in Hoppers Crossing and Truganina’s Alcock Road Reserve.” The community can eagerly anticipate the expansion of these dedicated spaces, tailored to the diverse needs of the canine population in Wyndham City.
