Free School Holiday Fun This Winter
Wyndham Art Gallery will host a week of free interactive activities for children and families during the winter school holidays, with internationally recognised Polyglot Theatre bringing two hands-on installations to the Werribee venue.
From 7 July to 12 July, the gallery will be transformed into a creative play space open daily from 10am to 4pm, with no bookings required.
The program features two participatory experiences designed for children aged up to 12 years.
Paper Planet invites children to create and contribute to a growing paper world using simple materials including paper, cardboard and sticky tape.
Throughout the week, participants will help build an evolving landscape of structures, creatures and environments, meaning the installation will continue to change as more families take part.
Sound of Drawing combines visual art and sound, allowing children’s drawings to generate live audio responses.
Every line, shape and scribble becomes part of a collaborative artwork that can be both seen and heard.
Families can drop in at any time during opening hours and are welcome to return throughout the week as the installations develop.
The school holiday program runs from 7 July to 12 July at Wyndham Art Gallery and is free to attend.
Other school holiday performances taking place at Wyndham Cultural Centre include Room on a Broom and Wurrtoo: The Wombat Who Fell in Love With the Sky.
