Police and emergency services responded to reports of a collision in Werribee last night, Sunday 23 May.
Investigators have been told a black Toyota wagon was travelling west on Shaws Road just before 11pm when a silver Ford Falcon sedan, which was travelling north-west on Market Road, allegedly failed to give way and collided with the Toyota.
The impact of the collision caused the Toyota to come to rest against a nearby post.
The female driver of the Ford, a 23-year-old Bannockburn woman, attempted to flee the scene on foot, however she was intercepted by police.
She was taken to hospital under police guard and is expected to be charged with drug and traffic related offences.
A passenger from the Toyota was taken to hospital for observations.
The driver and two other passengers were all uninjured.
