Arson and Explosives Squad detectives have charged a woman with murder and arson causing death following a fatal house fire in Point Cook yesterday morning.
The 46-year-old woman was arrested by detectives this morning in Airport West.
She has been charged with three counts each of murder and arson causing death.
The charges follow a fatal house fire in Totem Way on Wednesday morning at about 3.40 am that claimed the lives of a 19-year-old woman, a 28-year-old man, and a three-week-old baby girl.
The matter will be heard at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court later this evening.
Emergency services were called to the property following reports of a house fire that had spread to nearby residences about 3.40am.
The townhouse was destroyed by the blaze and two neighbouring properties were also damaged.
Arson chemists forensically examined the property late into the evening on Wednesday.
The woman charged was not previously known to any of the deceased.
The Police are not looking for anyone else in relation to the matter.
A 19-year-old woman, a 28-year-old man and a three-week-old baby girl died in the fire.
