The Strategic expansion aligns with Wyndham's commitment to equitable access to safe and clean amenities in parks and open spaces.
In a bid to enhance the overall experience for visitors, Wyndham City is set to introduce four new public toilets across its network of parks and open spaces. Recognizing the pivotal role that access to safe and clean toilets plays in attracting and retaining visitors, the initiative aims to encourage families to explore more extensively and prolong their stay, thereby contributing to an increased sense of well-being.
The proposed locations for the new toilets include Conquest Drive Park in Werribee, Loyola Road Park in Werribee, Principal Drive Park in Wyndham Vale, and Delaney Boulevard Park in Williams Landing. These selections align with Wyndham City’s Public Toilet Policy, designed to ensure the provision of safe, clean, and accessible toilets throughout its reserves and open spaces.
Wyndham City Mayor, Councillor Jennie Barrera, emphasized the need for a more equitable distribution of public toilets across the region, noting existing gaps in the network. With the city receiving approximately 12 requests annually for new public toilets, the implementation of the Public Toilet Policy earlier this year aims to address these disparities.

Councillor Barrera stated, “To achieve the vision set out in Plan Melbourne for liveable neighborhoods, facilities such as public toilets must be available in our open space network.” She highlighted the city’s proactive approach, which involved mapping current toilet facilities, identifying issues in their provision and management, and developing an Implementation Framework. The result is a destination-based strategy for providing public toilets, aligning with the community’s needs and enhancing the overall quality of open spaces in Wyndham City.
As part of the public engagement process, Wyndham City is inviting feedback on the concept plans for the new toilets, fostering a collaborative approach to the development of these essential amenities. The move reflects the city’s commitment to creating a more inclusive and enjoyable environment for residents and visitors alike.
