In short:
Wyndham is entering the build-up to Christmas with festive markets, outdoor movies and community events planned across the city. Locals can enjoy early celebrations while supporting local makers and businesses.
Plenty of Christmas Activities in 2025
The countdown to Christmas has begun, and Wyndham is preparing to light up with festive fun for the whole family.
Cr Mia Shaw said many locals are already getting into the spirit.
“We know that many of our residents love Christmas time and enjoy the fun of the festive season as well as spending time with family and friends,” she said.
Werribee City Centre will soon transform into a hub of festive activity, with a giant Christmas tree in Station Place and a gingerbread land in the Wedge Street Piazza where visitors can decorate their own creations.
Christmas Twilight Markets will also return to bring a local twist to the season — running every Friday from 4 pm to 8 pm across three Wyndham locations: Mambourin on 28 November, Hoppers Junction on 5 December and Werribee City Centre on 12 December.
“Keep an eye out for Santa and his festive friends who will be making regular visits in the Werribee City Centre,” Cr Shaw said. “It’s a great opportunity to get into the Christmas spirit, bring the family along, grab a bite to eat, tick off some Christmas shopping and enjoy all of the entertainment on offer while supporting local businesses.”
Families can also enjoy Movies in the Park on 6 December at Kelly Park, Werribee, featuring a free outdoor screening of Home Alone 2 from 5 pm to 8 pm.
At the Wyndham Cultural Centre, A Very Merry Movie Week will run from 16 to 20 December, with $5 screenings of holiday favourites including The Holiday, Elf and How the Grinch Stole Christmas.
There’ll also be Morning Melodies: Lucy Durack Christmas Show on 9 December at the Encore Events Centre, alongside festive library programs with themed story times, rhyme sessions and craft workshops for kids.
Adults can get creative too, with free Christmas Card workshops running across Wyndham libraries and community halls throughout late November and early December.
