Wyndham Man Breaks Curfew to Get Donuts

A Wyndham man who broke curfew to buy donuts is among 216 people who were issued fines in the last 24 hours.

There were 89 curfew breaches in total in the last 24 hours.

There were also 27  breaches for failing to wear a face covering when leaving home for one of the four approved reasons.

Other examples include:

  • Two men playing a round of golf at a closed golf course along the Mornington Peninsula. The men admitted to police they had climbed the fence to gain entry.
  • A man stopped at the Little River checkpoint who admitted to police he was driving to Rye to stay overnight at his holiday house.
  • Police intercepted a man and woman driving in the Knox area who stated they were returning from selling a mobile phone in Reservoir. A search of the vehicle located methyl amphetamine, ecstasy, cannabis, and GHB.  
  • A man and woman intercepted on Ferntree Gully Road as their car did not have registration plates. The pair admitted they were on their way to Boronia (more than 20km from their home address) to pick up a pair of shoes they had purchased from an online marketplace.
