Girl taken outside secondary school
A 15-year-old boy from the Wyndham area has been charged with abduction after a teenage girl was allegedly forced into a vehicle outside a Springvale South secondary school on Friday 26 June 2026.
Detectives from the Armed Crime Squad allege a 17-year-old girl was entering a secondary college on Janine Road, Springvale South, about 8.30am when she was approached by a male. The male allegedly forced the girl into a vehicle, which then fled the scene.
Members of the Special Operations Group later arrested the 15-year-old on Jezebel Way in Tarneit about 12pm. The girl was transported to hospital following the incident.
The boy has since been charged with abduction and was set to appear before court on Saturday 27 June 2026. Police believe the parties were known to one another.
The arrest is the latest involving a young person from the Wyndham area connected to a serious offence elsewhere in Melbourne. Earlier this month, two Tarneit schools were placed into lockdown following an aggravated burglary, with a 17-year-old boy from the Wyndham area among those arrested. In May, two Tarneit teenagers and a Wyndham youth were arrested over an alleged series of arson attacks on Melbourne CBD entertainment venues as part of Operation Eclipse.
As charges are before the court, the details of the alleged abduction remain subject to legal proceedings.
