Detectives from the Major Collision Investigation Unit have pressed charges against a man in connection with the tragic death of a pedestrian in Derrimut yesterday.
In a tragic incident in Derrimut yesterday, a pedestrian lost their life after being struck by a vehicle on Boundary Road. The collision, which occurred just before 3:50 am, has led to charges against a 36-year-old man from Wyndham Vale.
According to reports from the Major Collision Investigation Unit, the victim, identified as 27-year-old Aaran Brown from Sunshine West, was hit by a silver Holden Rodeo while on Boundary Road between William Angliss Drive and Mt Derrimut Road.

Following the collision, the driver allegedly abandoned the car nearby and fled the scene. The circumstances of the driver’s escape remain unclear at this time.
The arrest of the suspect comes after an emotional plea from the victim’s sister, Kaela, urging the driver to surrender. Describing the victim, Aaran, as a “good and kind-hearted person” who was “so innocent,” Kaela’s plea resonated with the community.
Late last night, the 36-year-old man from Wyndham Vale turned himself in to authorities at a local police station around 11 pm.
Today, the suspect faces several charges, including failure to stop, failure to render assistance, driving while disqualified, driving an unregistered vehicle, using a false license plate, and offences related to bail. He has been remanded and is set to appear at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 7 May.
Investigators are urging anyone who may have been travelling along Boundary Road between 3:30 am and 4:00 am, or who may have dashcam footage of the incident, to come forward with information.
