In short:

Wyndham Vale North Reserve is undergoing a series of upgrades, including new lighting, cricket nets and turf renewal, to support growing demand for sport. More improvements are planned, with pavilion design work scheduled for early 2026 as part of wider investment across Wyndham.

New Cricket Nets Finished

Wyndham Vale North Reserve is receiving a series of upgrades aimed at improving the grounds for local sport and community use.

New lighting is now operating across all three ovals, giving clubs the ability to train later and making evening sport more accessible.

A three-lane synthetic cricket net enclosure has also been installed, offering cricketers a more reliable space to train throughout the year.

Irrigation renewal works are underway to lift turf quality and provide safer, more consistent playing surfaces for the clubs that use the reserve.

The upgrades form part of the Wyndham Vale North Reserve Master Plan, which outlines long-term improvements to meet the needs of the area’s growing population.

Design work for the next major stage — a redevelopment of the sporting pavilion — is expected to start in early 2026.

These local works sit within Council’s broader $23.1 million investment in sports facility upgrades across Wyndham in 2025/26. Residents can follow progress through Council’s Capital Works Dashboard.

This follows a Council and state government “turf war” highlighted in Wyndham TV’s previous reporting, where the community has been calling for clearer timelines and more transparency around infrastructure delivery at Wyndham Vale North Reserve.
