Victorian Treasurer Tim Pallas a day ago took to social media to announce the finish of a major upgrade to Wyndham Vale Station. The upgrade, part of the Victorian Government’s Car Parks for Commuters Program, delivered 380 new and upgraded car spaces to the station.
“Your morning commute just got easier at Wyndham Vale Station with 380 new and upgraded car spaces open now,” Mr Pallas said on Facebook.
Not everyone is pleased about the distance of the carpark from the station though, this local resident sarcastically said, “Thanks for the generous gift of a car park so far away from the station, Tim Pallas! I’m sure everyone will appreciate the extra 30 minutes of walking every day.”
Another resident from a local Facebook group, ‘Whingers and Sooks of Whyndam’ said, “This is why I got a job that didn’t require the city or a $%#@$ train.”
The upgrade also includes more accessible parking spaces, new lighting, CCTV and more bike parking facilities. Mr Pallas said the upgrade is another boost for the booming west and follows upgrades last year which delivered 500 car spaces at Tarneit Station.
“We’re delivering big in one of Melbourne’s fastest-growing regions as part of the Victorian Governments Car Parks for Commuters Program, making it easier and safer to catch the train to work,” he said.
The new and upgraded car spaces at Wyndham Vale Station are now open and ready for use. Be sure to take a packed lunch!
