From Wyndham Vale to Werribee: Teen Trio with Machetes Spark Home Invasion Horror, Arrested After High-Speed Pursuit.

In a gripping turn of events in Melbourne, a high-speed police chase ended dramatically with the arrest of two individuals in the car park of a Sunbury shopping centre, following a dangerous pursuit through the city’s suburbs including Wyndham Vale and Werribee.

The chase, involving at least a dozen unmarked police vehicles, unfolded across Melbourne’s western and northern suburbs on Monday morning. Witnesses observed a black SUV, hurtling at speeds exceeding 150km/h, initially heading towards the city’s CBD around 9:30 am before altering its course towards Tullamarine and finally towards Sunbury by 10 am. The culmination of this pursuit occurred at Sunbury Square Shopping Centre, where police apprehended two suspects attempting to escape.

This incident was part of a broader spree of criminal activities involving three teenagers earlier in the day in Melbourne’s north-west. Armed with machetes, the trio is accused of executing two home invasions and an attempted carjacking in Mickleham around 6:30 am, fortunately without causing any injuries.

The teenagers’ flight from justice in a stolen black Pathfinder reached speeds of up to 200km/h, as they led police through a chase that passed through Wyndham Vale and Werribee, among other suburbs. The Police Air Wing provided crucial support in tracking the vehicle through these areas. The chase concluded just before 10 am outside a shopping centre in Sunbury, where the suspects abandoned their vehicle and were arrested by officers from the Critical Incident Response Team, with aerial support.

The individuals involved, a 16-year-old boy from Wyndham Vale and two girls aged 15 from Ivanhoe and Windsor, are now in police custody.

Police are appealing to the public for further information and urge anyone with dashcam footage or knowledge of the incidents to contact Crime Stoppers. This appeal underscores the importance of community assistance in law enforcement efforts.
