Wyndham Venue Closures Commence Tomorrow.

Changes to Council Services

As part of nation-wide efforts to reduce the spread and impact of COVID-19, Wyndham City will be closing a number of Council venues including Libraries, Community Centres and Halls, Youth Resource Centres, Wyndham Cultural Centre, Wyndham Art Gallery, Encore Events Centre and Werribee Visitor Information Centre.

WynActive have also advised of the closure of AquaPulse, Eagle Stadium and Werribee Outdoor Pool.

All of these closures will be in place as of Thursday 19 March until further notice and will continue to be reviewed on an ongoing basis.

In line with actions taken at a Federal and State level, Council events, programs and activities have also been cancelled until further notice.

While this is a very difficult decision, we are committed to taking the necessary precautions to keep our community healthy and safe.

Maternal Child and Health services, immunisations, and Kindergarten services will all continue to operate as usual from Community Centres unless we receive advice from the government recommending otherwise.

Wyndham City will continue to deliver essential services, with an emphasis on services for vulnerable members of the community. This includes rubbish collections, delivered meals, the pound, and child and maternal health services.

The Wyndham Civic Centre also remains open for customer service enquiries, with visitors encouraged to also utilise online and phone service options.

As this situation is evolving rapidly, it is important that we as a Council are proactive and responsive, putting our community’s wellbeing at the forefront of all decisions we make and we thank you for your understanding.
