Cr. Susan McIntyre has been voted in as Wyndham’s new Mayor for the next 12 months.
Cr. McIntyre, who represents the Harrison Ward, was elected at a council meeting this evening 16th of November 2022.
Nominated by Cr. Jenny Barrera and seconded by Cr. Adele Hegedich, ten councillors voted in favour of Cr. McIntyre to become mayor. Jasmine Hill nominated herself and was seconded by Sahana Ramesh.
A passionate advocate for community safety, Cr McIntyre said: “I’m extremely grateful to be given the opportunity to lead this wonderful City. I’m looking forward to working with my fellow Councillors over the next 12 months.”
Mayor Susan McIntyre also went on to thank her husband Chris and her two daughters for their continued support.
Cr Jennie Barrera was elected Deputy Mayor.
Outgoing Mayor Peter Maynard was thanked by many of the councillors for his work over his term.
