Last year, the city loaned two off-road bikes to Victoria Police’s Westgate Highway Patrol Unit, enhancing a decade-long partnership aimed at curbing hoon activities.

Wyndham City’s Mayor and holder of the Community Safety portfolio, Cr Susan McIntyre, confirmed the extension of the loan, emphasizing the commitment to providing the police with necessary resources to address illegal trail bike riding and motorbike hooning.

“This is another way that Wyndham City is proactively and collaboratively working with Victoria Police to ensure community safety,” she stated.

“There is no excuse for someone to use our pathways, parks and reserves for illegal riding of motorcycles.”

“We want our children and all park users to feel safe – without the threat of being caught in the path of illegal trail bikes.”

Residents experiencing issues with illegal trail bike activities on roads or in council parks and reserves are encouraged to report to the Victoria Police Hoon Hotline/Crime Stoppers Victoria at 1800 333 000.
