The incident occurred around 3:30 pm at the station on Manly Street, where Tomas, on his way home from work, was ambushed by a group of youths reportedly loitering outside the station. The attack left him with multiple stab wounds, including a punctured lung and an injury dangerously close to his spine.

Covered in blood and in critical condition, Tomas was assisted by a passer-by who applied pressure to his wounds until paramedics arrived. Emergency services, including six police vehicles and paramedics, were on the scene promptly. Tomas was treated for his injuries before being transported to the Royal Melbourne Hospital, where he remains in a stable condition.

A second victim, a teenage boy, was also injured in the incident and taken to the Royal Children’s Hospital.

Tomas moved to Melbourne to pursue opportunities and currently lives with his girlfriend. Working as a tradie, he’s described as a quick learner and someone always willing to get his hands dirty. Known for his dedication and hard work, his colleagues have rallied around him during his recovery.
