Chopper Tracks Vehicle Across Suburbs

Four youths have been arrested following a dramatic pursuit of an allegedly stolen car that ends in Werribee early this morning.

The incident begins at approximately 11:55pm on 19 June, when the Canine Unit spots a silver Honda Accord on Thomas Carr Drive in Tarneit. Officers attempt to intercept the vehicle, but it flees onto Geelong Road in Brooklyn.

Victoria Police’s Air Wing monitors the vehicle allegedly speeding through Sommerville Road in Yarraville, before it pulls in behind a fast-food restaurant on Ballarat Road, Footscray. One occupant appears to exit the vehicle at this point.

The car continues city-bound along Ballarat Road and Droop Street before doubling back and heading west towards Tarneit.

Stop sticks are successfully deployed on Derrimut Road in Werribee, bringing the Honda to a halt. All four occupants flee on foot but are quickly arrested. Two boys and two girls are now in custody and are expected to be interviewed.

Police confirm the Honda was reported stolen from a residential address on Toorak Avenue in Croydon on 4 June at around 1:00pm.

Anyone with information or dashcam/CCTV footage is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
